What To Expect

Embark on a captivating day tour to Quilotoa from Quito, where you’ll experience the breathtaking beauty and rich culture of the Ecuadorian Andes. Your journey begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in the Quito city area. As we make our way to Quilotoa, we’ll stop to take in the stunning farmlands stretching across the Andean landscape.

A special visit to a local indigenous family will give you a glimpse into their traditions and way of life, offering a unique cultural experience. Upon arriving at Quilotoa, the tour's highlight, you can choose your adventure. Whether you’re an avid hiker or prefer a more relaxed approach, the hike can be tailored to suit all fitness levels. You may choose to descend to the tranquil lagoon, where you’ll have time to explore and walk around its shores. For the more adventurous, a hike back up to the refuge awaits, but don’t worry if the ascent seems challenging—you have the option to rent a mule directly from the local community for around $10 per person, supporting them in the process.

After a well-deserved lunch break, we’ll begin our return to Quito, but not before stopping at the workshop of Alfredo Toaquisa, one of Ecuador’s most renowned indigenous painters. Here, you’ll have the chance to see his remarkable artwork up close, adding a final touch of culture to your unforgettable day.
